Water is life. 

We have heard that said before but do we really realize how much water effects our everyday life?

 Have you ever pondered the amount of water you use daily. You wake up in the morning most likely heading to your bathroom to brush your teeth, wash your face, take a shower or use the toilet. All of these using water. You then head into the kitchen to start the pot of water for your coffee or tea. After this you must wash your dishes, using water coming out of your faucet. It can be said that the Western world doesn’t think much about it’s water usage on the daily. 

Water out of our faucets is something that most Western households do not have to worry about or even think about. If you are any thing like me, I don’t usually think about my usage of water until the bill comes at the end of the month. Access to water is not something that we must think through on the daily. 

This is not the case for 663 million people that live without access to clean water in our world today. That is 1 in every 10 people that make up the worlds population. Another look at that number is twice the U.S. population. This is not okay.

 The craziest thing is, we have enough water to go around. People just don't have access to it.

In these people’s lives, water affects every aspect of their day. 

Did you know that the average person without clean water walks 4 hours a day to get water?

That means that time they could be working, getting an education, taking care of their family is spent getting water. 

They have to constantly think about the water they are using to eat food, wash dishes and clothes, take a bath, and keep their household clean.

Water is a constant burden on their day.

This month, we want to raise awareness about how we can help people get access to clean water. Throughout the month we will be sharing stats about the 1/10 people in our world without clean water. Join us. Because we believe that every person should have access to clean water.
